my little man is part black, and we've ran in to some problems with his hair lately. i use to just treet it with vasoleen, but it doesn't do the trick any more. i've tried some stuff from the store but it eather stinks or has too much of a calone / perfume smell to it, and I don't like putting that on his scalp.

I am wondering if they make any thing spassiffick for babys?

any of you guys got any tips? thanks

Try just baby oil. that's what I do 'cuz my kids are half black too. If you want it long, you may need to try other products. I just cut my son's hair short and because it's fairly straight I don't need anything for him. My daughter doesn't have any hair yet, at least not much, but her scalp gets dry so I use a little baby oil on her head. Walmart has some good cheap stuff, but I haven't explored there much yet. My husband uses something called African Pride. It comes in a plastic jar and I think I got it from Rite Aid.

o, and they told me to only use a dime size, but it soaks it up so fast that i use a quarter size or more sometimes, but it makes his hair so soft, and it doesn't have that strong smell, it does smell like watermellon which bothers me because as that's ok for a girl it's not grate on a boy, but o well

Vasoline is made from mineral oil, the same crap you put into your car's gass tank. You don't want that anywhere on your baby. Erm, read ingrediants list's carefully as sixty to seventy percent of what you put onto your skin, including your scalp is obsorbed beneath it. This is increased for mucus membranes such as eyes, mouth, genitals, nose, etc, and for babies and toddler's skin which is more dellicate, where it might be as high as between seventy and eighty percent. Vasoline will coat hair, but not nourish it with anything benificial, only gunk it up. Try shea butter or a good organic lotion or conditioner that uses shea butter or shea oil or cacoa butter. That's what Africans, living in Africa have used for thousands and thousands of years. Good reputable companies like Aubrey Organics have some nice products. Their B 5 Design Gel and some of their leave in hair treatments and masks are wonderful for white, black or mixed race hair, relaxed or natural styles. They are not formulated for babies, but they work, and being made by Aubrey Organics, they are better than anything you are going to find at Wallmart or Right Aid made especially for babies, at least in terms of safety and health. Hope this helps. Always be informed about what is going onto and therefore under your baby's skin. Peace.
